Amazon Commitment
Aiming to ensure that the origin of our feedstock is not associated with deforestation, bad work conditions, invasion of indigenous or conservation land, JBS has been developing since 2010 a monitoring system for the Amazon Biome which uses satellite images, geo-referenced ranch data and official information to analyze over 22,000 cattle suppliers located in the region.
Transparency in our actions is part of JBS’s commitment to sustainability. With that goal in mind, we recently performed a new third party auditing process regarding our program for sustainable production and conservation of the Amazon Biome, through independent auditing firm BDO RCS Auditores Independentes, a member company of BDO International Limited.
Our intent is to present an updated and unbiased report about the procedures and results attained through our system to monitor and trace the origin of feedstock in the Amazon Biome.
