JBS’s commitment to promoting animal welfare is among the priorities of its global agenda, reflecting respect for life and responding to the expectations of customers, consumers, and society. Across all JBS protein platforms, animal health and safety are a priority.
All actions and initiatives carried out by JBS operations are aligned with the Five Domains Model, an animal welfare assessment framework proposed by Mellor & Reid (1994).
The five domains are:
